Artificial Women in Films, Art, Literature, Robotics, and More

Enhanced by artificial intelligence, today’s simulated females–robots, dolls, mannequins— are becoming ever more lifelike.  They have already had a dramatic impact on personal relationships, on our views of women, and our ideas about what it means to be human.

Based on her new book Artificial Women, Professor emerita Julie Wosk highlights these startling creations that range from virtual assistants like Siri and Alexa to talking Barbie dolls to robot caregivers and even robot mothers.

All are welcome!
