Bylaws Review Listening Circle

All Souls’ bylaws are the legal framework for how we organize ourselves and take care of the business of being a leading and thriving spiritual institution. The bylaws benefit from being reviewed periodically and especially at times of transition. Our bylaws were last updated sixteen years ago – in 2009. In conjunction with the current transition to call a new minister, a board-appointed Bylaws Review Committee is seeking suggested bylaws revisions form everyone at All Souls.

Throughout this fall, the Bylaws Review Committee will be hosting a series of listening circles on Zoom to foster discussion about each of the fifteen articles in our current bylaws with two goals in mind:

Identify desirable revisions to reflect our current practices and priorities

Discuss minor changes needed to align our bylaws with current regulations governing religious organizations.

 

The purpose of the listening circles is to discuss with the congregation the current bylaws and proposed changes with the goal of holding a vote at the Annual Meeting in February 2026.

Below is a link to the current bylaws and the dates of the listening circles. Please mark your calendar for some or all of these dates and join us for thoughtful discussion of how we as a congregation would like to update our bylaws.
