Governance
All Souls NYC is a self-governing organization. We elect representatives to our Board of Trustees and officers to perform specific duties; vote to approve our budget and call our settled ministers; decide the content of our bylaws and other governing documents; etc. You can read about the various aspects of our governance below.

Richard Esposito, President
Richard's Bio
Richard has been a member of All Souls since 2019. He has been on the Board of Directors for Heart & Soul Charitable Fund, a member of the Laymen’s League and the Writer’s Group, and a volunteer in outreach programs. Before joining All Souls, he was a member of various Unitarian churches in which he served on committees for strategic planning, welcoming, and capital campaigns.
He has over 35 years of experience in senior executive and management positions in the information technology industry. Richard has a track record of building, growing, and transforming businesses in Americas, Europe, and Asia, and has held senior executive positions at IBM divisions as General Manager, COO, CIO and Vice President. He has been recognized with numerous awards including a Technology Invention Patent. Richard has a B.S. from Rider University in Decision Science and Computers followed by an M.B.A. in Corporate Finance from Drexel University.
Dixie Goss, First Vice President
Dixie's Bio
Dixie has been a member of All Souls since 1988. She is a Professor and Endowed Scholar in the Chemistry Department of Hunter College CUNY, as well as a member of the National Institute of Health Research Ethics Committee, grant review panel for NIH and NSF.
Dixie is a participant in Monday Night Hospitality, the Women’s Alliance, a reader for Stories with Soul, and works with the Heart & Soul Charitable Fund.
Tom Blum, Second Vice President
Tom's Bio
Tom has been a member of All Souls since 1996. He currently serves as a Deacon and was recently elected to the Investment Committee. Since 2009 Tom has been treasurer of the Heart & Soul Charitable Fund, Inc. which supports and funds All Souls’ community outreach efforts. He maintains relationships with the heads of Monday Night Hospitality, Friday Soup Kitchen, Gotham Food Pantry, and other groups important to All Souls. The H&S experience involves fundraising and hosting of community events.
Alongside his wife of 39 years, Heli Blum, he saw four children through the Religious Education program. Professionally, for the past 20 years Tom has been an investor in early-stage companies, with a focus on cleantech and healthcare start-ups. In this capacity, he has sat on boards of directors with oversight of CEOs and managements for small organizations with staff & budgets the size of All Souls. He is also an entrepreneur-in-residence for NYSERDA and Stevens Institute of Technology. Previously, he was an investment banker on Wall Street for 20 years.
Robert Dottin, Trustee
Robert's Bio
Robert has been a member of All Souls since 1987. Robert is currently an All Souls Deacon. He has worked tirelessly on social justice campaigns with the All Souls community, especially antiracist and environmental initiatives. At All Souls, he has given nine lectures for the Adult Education program with various topics including Ableism, Voter suppression, Anti -racism, Indigenous rights, Genethics and Epigenetics. Robert encouraged strong interaction with the Unitarian Universalist Association and All Souls participation in the UUA General Assembly. His two children attended UU Religious Education at Community Unitarian Church in Westchester and All Souls NYC.
Robert is a professor of Biological Sciences at Hunter College. He worked as an Associate Professor at The Johns Hopkins University until moving to New York. At Hunter College, CUNY, he worked on the development of a multi-racial Gene Center in New York — a major goal of the National Institutes of Health for addressing health disparities. Robert is a long-time activist and member of The History Makers, a digital archive of prominent Black individuals who are experts in their fields.
Judith Moldover, Trustee
Judith's Bio
Judith has been a member of All Souls since 2009. She recently retired as a Senior Staff Attorney at Lawyers Alliance New York, a nonprofit dedicated to providing pro bono business and transactional legal assistance to other nonprofits serving underserved communities in New York City.
Matthew Singh, Trustee
Matthew's Bio
Matt has been a member of All Souls since 2015. Matt is a mid-career finance professional specializing in affordable housing investment, lending, construction, and public policy.
Shivani Singh, Trustee
Shivani's Bio
Shivani Singh MD PhD has been a member of All Souls since 2016. She has served in the Religious Education program, the Welcome Committee and more lately with the Lay Pastoral Associates. Shivani is a physician scientist at NYU Langone Medical Center and attends as a pulmonologist at Bellevue Hospital. She researches the lung microbiome in various lung infections such as tuberculosis and COVID-19 at the NYU Translational Lung Biology Laboratories.
Gus Young, Trustee
Gus's Bio
Gus has been a member of All Souls since 2001. A member of the All Souls Choir, Gus is a summer usher, a former teacher in the RE program, and a regular in the kitchen at Monday Night Hospitality. Gus is a retired school administrator who is also an active sports official.
Li Yu, Trustee
Li's Bio
Li has been a member at All Souls since 2004. He has practiced law since graduating from Columbia in 2002, first in private practice, next as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and more recently as an investigator for the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. Now he is an enforcement counsel at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
