Come and meet members of the International Convocation of Unitarian* Universalist Women (ICUUW) and hear about their September 2024 convocation in Transylvania and their work with the UN Commission on the Status of Women, currently in session in New York.
Sponsored by the All Souls Women’s Alliance
The ICUUW has special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council, focusing on global women’s rights and empowerment, and contributes to the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) by hosting parallel events at the NGO CSW Forum, including the ICUUW Spring Seminar which is to take place on March 15-16.
Mary Geissman, Rev. Carol Huston, and Karen Steele, three of our All Souls Women’s Alliance members, travelled to Transylvania, Romania, last September to attend the Fourth International Convocation of UU Women and People of Progressive Faiths. They will report back to us about their experiences at the convocation and their fascinating tour of historical sites in Transylvania that played an important role in Unitarian history during the Reformation. They will be joined by visiting UU delegates from Bolivia, India and Eastern Europe who are attending the United Nations’ Commission on the Status of Women and the ICUUW’s Spring Seminar.
All are welcome – light fare will be served.
