Heart and Tradition (Ages 6-12)

February 4 @ 7:15 am - 8:00 am EST

We are standing on the side of love, hands joined together as hearts beat as one. Emboldened by faith, we dare to proclaim we are standing on the side of love.

— Hymn 1014 in Singing the Journey

In February, we will offer an art class celebrating two traditions – Lunar New Year and Mardi Gras! Mardi Gras, also known as Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day, is a festival on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday and refers to the old custom of consuming all the fats in the home before Lent. Chinese New Year is a cultural and historic celebration observed in China, signaling the beginning of spring and the start of a new year according to the Chinese lunar calendar. In this class, children can create pieces inspired by either of the two traditions or a combination of both! Moreover, we will also be making a unique project to celebrate Valentine’s Day. So, join us for a fun-filled and creative experience that embraces the spirit of different cultures and traditions!
