This adult education session will be devoted to encounters with displacement, adversity, and mystical experience. The presenter will share her own experiences and elicit contributions from participants. The session will encompass spontaneous mystical experiences as well as meditation and the growth of higher states of consciousness.
Constance L. Benson, M.Phil., M.Div. is a scholar, educator, and the author of God and Caesar (1999 / 2017, Routledge), a peer-reviewed study of religion and politics in Imperial Germany, with a foreword by Cornel West. She holds Masters degrees from Harvard Divinity School and Columbia University and has taught religious studies at Fordham University and Manhattan College.
