What is a Targeted Senior Minister?

A Target Minister is a temporary minister hired by the Board of Trustees as a short-term staff position until an Interim Minister can be placed. Rev. Kathleen will be the All Souls Senior Targeted Minister beginning January 1st and serving until June 30th, 2025. More information coming soon!

Over her more than thirty years of ministry, she has served in both small and large Unitarian Universalist churches as Senior Minister, Senior Co-Minister and Interim Senior Minister including the Unity Church Unitarian in Saint Paul, MN, the All Souls Church Unitarian in Washington, DC, the Unitarian Universalist Church in Annapolis MD, and the Fox Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Appleton, WI. Prior to becoming an Accredited Interim Minister, Rev. Rolenz served as the settled Senior Co-Minister with her husband, the Rev. Dr. Wayne B. Arnason, at the West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church in Cleveland, OH. (2000 – 2016).

Kathleen brings a wealth of experience and expertise in transitional ministry, worship sermons and services, pastoral care, and religious education. She is the author and co-author of several books including Sources of Our Faith, Worship that Works, and Christian Voices in Unitarian Universalism. She has been actively involved in social justice issues, including anti-human trafficking efforts, reproductive rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, and anti-racism, anti-oppression work.

Kathleen and her husband Wayne have a home in Charlottesville, VA and are grandparents to twin four-year old granddaughters, who live in Atlanta, GA. Kathleen will relocate to New York City during her Targeted Ministry with All Souls, with occasional visits to her home in Charlottesville.
