DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Zen Meditation with Laura Cohen in the Ware Room \nInterested in trying meditation\, or in establishing a regular practice? Looking to calm a busy mind? Come and learn the basics of Zen meditation. The hour-long session will include sitting meditation and walking meditation\, as well as a chance to ask questions. Beginners and experienced meditators welcome. \nLaura Cohen is a student at Union Theological Seminary studying Buddhism and Interreligious Engagement. She practices Zen Buddhism and has recently been exploring the vocation of chaplaincy. She is excited to be here at All Souls this year serving the Buddhism and Mindfulness community.

Children will engage in exciting weekly activities to spark their creativity and curiosity.  On January 21\, they will dive into wax paper stars\, where children will learn to create their stunning constellations. On January 28\, they will explore the beauty and symbolism of mandalas\, creating unique pieces to take home.

The power of theatre to not only entertain but also to provoke thought and provide perspective.  We are excited to introduce our Social Justice Table Read Series. In this series\, we will be presenting various plays that look at social justice issues from different viewpoints. In the first session on 12/3 will read through the work. The second session 1/7 will continue with our reading and then discuss (ideally over a socially curated adjacent event). Registrants will be furnished a copy of the work. In these two sessions\, we will be reading and discussing The Grown-Ups by Skylar Fox and Simon Henriques \nRSVP HERE \nSYNOPSIS: \nFollowing a group of camp counselors trying to mold the leaders of tomorrow when tomorrow is looking bleaker and bleaker\, The Grown-Ups explores the traditions that change us\, what it takes for us to change them\, and how to change yourself when you’re hopelessly\, tragically not prepared for this.
