SUMMARY:Artificial Intimacy: Who We Become When We Talk to Machines with Sherry Turkle & Jon Kabat-Zinn
DESCRIPTION:Artificial Intimacy: Who We Become When We Talk to Machines \nAs AI chatbots present themselves as our best friends\, our therapists\, and even our companions\, asking for nothing in return\, what happens to our capacity for real empathy\, care\, and human connection? Join us for an extraordinary evening as WisdomFeed Publishing hosts its very first live\, in-real-life NYC event! New York Times bestselling authors Sherry Turkle (MIT Professor and author of Reclaiming Conversation) and Jon Kabat-Zinn (mindfulness pioneer) come together for a vital\, profound conversation hosted by Steve Stein. Sherry Turkle calls this pivotal era a “break the glass moment” \, an urgent time to look deeply at the loneliness epidemic already living inside our homes and our kids’ pockets. \nThis event serves as the live third session of the StreetSmart Wisdom Podcast with Jon and Sherry\, celebrating the launch of Sherry’s groundbreaking new book\, Artificial Intimacy (Little\, Brown). \nWhether you join us in the room in NYC or tune in from anywhere in the world via livestream\, this is an evening you won’t want to miss. \nThis is a ticketed event!
