DESCRIPTION:This 4-week series will guide children through a free and responsible search for truth and meaning\, as they celebrate the wonders of the universe and the stars that light up our night sky. \nAs the darkness deepens o’er us\, lo\, eternal stars arise. \n“Now on Land and Sea Descending\,” Hymn 47 in Singing the Living Tradition \nThis 4-week series\, facilitated by Melissa Jennings and assisted by Beibei Lubin\, will guide children through a free and responsible search for truth and meaning\, as they celebrate the wonders of the universe and the stars that light up our night sky. Children will engage in exciting weekly activities to spark their creativity and curiosity.  On January 21\, they will dive into wax paper stars\, where children will learn to create their stunning constellations. On January 28\, they will explore the beauty and symbolism of mandalas\, creating unique pieces to take home.

SUMMARY:Conversation with Tengyur Rinpoche
DESCRIPTION:Tengyur Rinpoche will preach for our 11:15 am service on Sunday\, January 21\, and he and Pamela will host a conversation that afternoon. \nTulku Tenzin Gyurmey Rinpoche is an internationally-renowned Tibetan Buddhist scholar and teacher and civic leader in Tawang\, India. He completed his Geshe Lharampa degree (the equivalent of a PhD) at Sera Jey Monastic University in 2022 and is currently in his final year of the Master of Theological Studies program at Harvard Divinity School.  He founded the Thubten Shedrubling Foundation in 2014 to provide education\, healthcare\, life and job skills\, and cultural preservation programs for the people of Tawang and the neighboring Himalayan region. In 2021\, he co-founded the US-based nonprofit\, Wisdom Bridges\, to support education that bridges traditional wisdom and contemporary learning for Himalayan children.  He has served as an interpreter for His Holiness the Dalai Lama\, participated in international conferences\, and written many articles on Tibetan literature and on science and Buddhism.
